On 3 February 2005, Public Bank Berhad marked a significant milestone with its Inaugural National Sales Convention. The event took place at the President’s Conference Room in Menara Public Bank and was attended by 219 participants, including 38 representatives from Head Office, 10 Regional Managers, and 171 staff from various Regional Offices.

The convention brought together sales leaders and key personnel from across the nation, united by a common mission — to strengthen strategies, enhance performance, and drive the Bank’s continued growth. It was a historic gathering that set the tone for a more structured and focused national sales direction.

The event highlighted:

2005 - Ching Neng Bin standing beside the statue of Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr Teh Hong Piow, the founder of Public Bank Berhad. Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow was one of Malaysia’s most respected bankers and corporate leaders. He founded Public Bank in 1966 and built it into one of the strongest and most successful banks in Malaysia and the region. His leadership, discipline, and emphasis on sound banking principles earned him numerous national and international recognitions.

2005 - A Terengganu Traditional Sailing Boat
Presented to Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Teh Hong Piow
To mark the opening of the Public Bank Kuala Terengganu Branch


This is a striking sculpture of a rearing horse, carved from what appears to be yellow jade or a similar translucent stone, mounted on a polished wooden base with red felt lining. The horse is shown in a dynamic pose — front legs raised, head lifted high — symbolizing: Strength and power, Success and advancement, Energy and determination, Prosperity and victory.
 

A magnificent golden dragon plaque presented to Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Teh Hong Piow, Founder and Chairman of Public Bank Berhad. In Chinese culture, the dragon symbolizes supreme leadership, strength, and prosperity — a fitting tribute to the visionary banker who built Public Bank into one of Malaysia’s most successful financial institutions.


A symbolic sculpture bearing the auspicious Chinese phrase “δΈ‰ι˜³εΌ€ζ³°”, presented to Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Teh Hong Piow, Founder and Chairman of Public Bank Berhad. In Chinese tradition, the three goats represent the arrival of prosperity, harmony, and a new cycle of success — a fitting tribute to a visionary leader.


A golden dragon sculpture presented as a birthday gift to Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Teh Hong Piow, Founder and Chairman of Public Bank Berhad. In Chinese symbolism, the dragon holding the pearl represents wisdom, authority, and the pursuit of excellence — a fitting tribute to a visionary leader whose guidance brought enduring success and prosperity.
